Hello Community Garden Members,
Please see our SACG updates for the month of December below:
Reminder: New Garden Committee
A new Garden Committee came into effect following the October Annual General Meeting. Membership can be viewed on the About Us page of the SACG Website.
Reassignment of Unpaid Plots and Plot Turnover
All unpaid and vacated plots as of November 30, 2024 will be reassigned in the near future to individuals on our waiting list. There are currently 4 full plots and 3 half plots awaiting new gardeners.
A total of 77 plot-holders kept their plots for next season. We appreciate the contributions of all members to date, and look forward to the new gardeners who will be joining us this Spring.
What do I do if my garlic is sprouting!?
See this video by Lovin off the Land on Youtube - a great resource for all of us with this question given the very mild November we’ve had this year.
Who says tomato cages are just for tomatoes?
Judy and Scott, two of our creative community garden members, turned their tomato cages into a festive Christmas tree!
Next Newsletter
Our next regular newsletter will come in March. In this communication, we hope to share details about our Annual Spring Meeting and much more.
Until then, we wish you a lovely holiday season!
Warm regards,
Maia Norman
Communications Coordinator
Inspire - Connect - Grow
Started in 2009, St. Andrew's Community Garden in Ajax has become a place for community gathering, urban agriculture and a place to grow organic produce. Our over 20,000 foot space is managed by a volunteer committee, but kept beautiful by the dedication of its membership.
